ELBERTON - It's official the Elbert County Blue Devils have their new football coach and athletics director. The Elbert County Board of Education named Sid Fritts the new coach at a called meeting Friday afternoon.
Fritts comes to Elberton from Rome High School. At Rome, Fritts guided the Wolves to 46 wins in 5 years.
Prior to his stop in northwest Georgia, he was in Vidalia where he won 53 games in 5 years and took the Indians to the Georgia Dome in 2003.
Another change for the Elbert County program is that the Blue Devils will move from Class AAA to Class AA next season.
